URGENT: Assembly Bill Threatens California Worker Safety

ACTIVIST ALERT

The California Assembly Appropriations Committee is considering a bill this week that would limit what local governments can do to ensure that 5G wireless equipment is installed safely.

This puts workers at risk, especially if the work is done with low-wage contractors who might cut corners to save money.

It is urgent that every CWA member in California contact the members of the Assembly Appropriations Committee and tell them to vote NO on SB 556. Tell them that the bill puts industry profits ahead of worker safety by limiting what local governments can do to ensure safety in the right-of-way.

Here’s who to call:

  • Lorena Gonzalez (Chair): (916) 319-2080
  • Frank Bigelow (Vice Chair): (916) 319-2005
  • Isaac G. Bryan: (916) 319-2054
