Tell the Justice Department to Protect CWA Agents!

FIGHTING FOR ECONOMIC JUSTICE & DEMOCRACY

Brothers and Sisters ,

We are all aware of the alarming increase in assaults on passenger service agents and other airport workers since air travel resumed in the wake of pandemic travel restrictions. Not enough is being done by federal law enforcement agents to protect CWA agents who have been on the front lines in the battle to protect the travelling public since the beginning of this ongoing crisis.

We worked hard to win federal protections against assault, but to the best of our knowledge, not a single passenger who has assaulted an agent has been prosecuted under federal law. Airport police departments and local law enforcement agencies are currently tasked with responding to these incidents but haven’t received clear guidance from the federal government on their responsibilities.

CWA agents are calling on the Department of Justice to address this issue, including prosecuting abusive passengers under applicable federal law. Please add your voice by clicking here to send your letter to the Department of Justice today.

In unity,

Marjorie Krueger
Director of CWA Airline Passenger Service
