As we close out Black History Month 2022, we celebrate by highlighting some of the amazing members who pave the way for the next trailblazer. This month and every month going forward, we ask that you continue to honor Black History, diversity, and our strength together as one in the labor movement.
The AFL-CIO featured several profiles of Black CWA leaders, including Kwami Barnes (CWA Local 4603), Michael Rice (AFA-CWA Local 27085), Shawanda Rankin (CWA Local 6016), Keith Robinson (CWA Local 6300), Dante Harris (AFA-CWA Local 29012), and Yvonne Kinston (CWA Local 3680) as part of its yearly Black History Month celebration honoring leaders who are actively making Black history across the labor movement and beyond.
On Thursday, February 24th, CWA Local 6215 hosted a virtual Black History Month Program, “WAKE UP EVERYBODY.” The program celebrated the past and the present with songs and spoken words. We encourage you to view the event later by clicking this link!
CWA also supports the AFL-CIO Constituency Groups listed below with annual donations and sends CWA activists to virtual AFL-CIO Constituency Group Conventions. To apply for sponsorship to one of these virtual conventions, click on this link.
